The new acute services building delivers state-of-the-art facilities that support best-practice care for the Hunter New England Local Health District.
Integrating with the existing hospital campus, the 2,000sqm single-storey building includes an expanded emergency department, birthing, maternity and inpatient unit, a new main entry and reception, and ambulance bays.
Local artwork is featured throughout the facility, including backlit perforated panels at the emergency department entry showcasing Kamilaroi motifs inspired by the local landscape.
Delivered within an operational environment, strict environmental controls were implemented to minimise noise and vibration across the precinct, ensuring medical services were maintained throughout.
