Creative kids connect cranes and community
27.05.2026
Two cranes now proudly fly their names above the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator (SBA) site.
Through the Richard Crookes Constructions SBA Name the Crane competition, students from Newtown North Public School and primary-aged relatives from the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital were invited to name the cranes helping deliver this state-of-the-art health, education and biomedical research complex.
The winning names were announced at the naming ceremony held within the University of Sydney Camperdown Campus where students joined the SBA project team and key stakeholders for a morning of celebration including a special crane demonstration by the site’s crane crew from Resolution Rigging Services.
Congratulations to our two winning participants:
- ‘Dulili’, named by Zoe Happy Scott, was selected for its meaning—an Aboriginal word meaning “together”—reflecting how the new buildings will become an integrated part of the growing medical precinct.
- ‘Sir Luffs A Lot’, named by August Mamas, was selected for its meaning—representing the crane as a knight in shining armour standing guard above the school.
RCC was also proud to present $2,000 each to Newtown North Public School and the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, reflecting our ongoing commitment to education, health and research infrastructure that supports better outcomes for generations.
Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this community moment to life.
