Located on the Maitland Hospital campus, the purpose-built mental health facility will provide recovery-focused care to the Hunter region.
The two-storey building will include 64 secure forensic and mental health rehabilitation beds, each with a private bedroom and ensuite, along with shared living and therapy spaces.
Integrating with existing health services at the Maitland Hospital campus, the facility will replace outdated facilities with a modern environment that integrates technology, innovation and holistic care – enhancing outcomes for patients.
“Our staff are looking forward to relocating to these new, purpose-built facilities, and we are looking forward to working with the building team as the project starts to take shape.”

Executive Director, Hunter New England Mental Health Services
