The SBA will tackle complex health challenges, including cancer and neurodegenerative diseases, positioning New South Wales at the forefront of biomedical research.
A partnership between the University of Sydney (USYD), Sydney Local Health District, the NSW Government, SBA will span USYD’s Camperdown Campus and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Two new eight-storey research buildings, connected by bridges, are designed to enable shared access and collaboration.
The world-class facility will feature PC2 and PC3 laboratory spaces, a biobank, GMP cleanrooms, collaboration areas, core research infrastructure and training facilities for over 8,000 anatomy students.
“We have a unique opportunity to design and deliver a series of state-of-the-art, highly adaptable biomedical laboratories where education, healthcare, engineering, and science converge."
