Transforming the heritage-listed David Jones building into a five-star boutique hotel has revitalised Newcastle’s CBD. Delivered under EVT’s lifestyle brand, QT Hotels, this luxury 104-key hotel provides guests with access to restaurants, cafes and a rooftop bar.
Early procurement and detailed planning ensured materials were available onsite as required to support delivery. Resulting in this full turnkey solution, including high-quality, bespoke finishes and fixtures, being fully operational from day one.
The building’s original façade was restored and preserved in keeping with the building’s art deco design. Its successful delivery also marked the completion of Stage 1 of Newcastle’s East End precinct rejuvenation.
