With 35 years of combined experience in Newcastle construction, Kyle Bosworth, RCC Estimating Manager, and Larissa Sullivan, RCC Pre-Construction Project Engineer, joined Property Council of Australia’s Shifting Ground: Economic Pressures Reshaping Property panel to share perspectives shaped by more than two decades of change across the region.

The discussion explored the current economic climate, its impact on construction and property, and the commercial and residential markets shaping Newcastle.

For the audience, it was an opportunity to hear practical industry insight grounded in first-hand experience of the local market.

To celebrate Iglu Kingsford topping out, project partners, delivery teams and key stakeholders attended a topping out ceremony, which marked completion of structural works on the purpose-built 20-storey student accommodation tower.

240,000+ hours of work have contributed to reaching structural completion, creating a clear path into the next phase of delivery.

Once completed, Iglu Kingsford will provide 300 beds across 285 rooms, as well as commercial and retail tenancies activating the lower levels.

With over 194,000 hours worked and 17,000 tonnes of concrete poured, the project has progressed from major excavation and early structural works into above-ground construction

A partnership between the University of Sydney, NSW Government and the Sydney Local Health District, the Sydney Biomedical Accelerator will support research into complex health challenges, positioning New South Wales at the forefront of biomedical research translation.

Reaching a significant milestone at the Westmead Centre for Mental Health, set to be NSW’s largest mental health facility, delivered in partnership with Health Infrastructure and Western Sydney Local Health District.

The occasion was marked with a topping out ceremony, including a tour of the new purpose-built facility and the unveiling of a native Kurrajong tree at the building’s highest point.

Once complete, the 10-storey complex will deliver a range of mental health services, integrated with the wider Westmead Health Precinct to strengthen health outcomes for the community.

Ivanhoe Building C3 (Treehouse) has topped out—a significant milestone in the delivery of the 16-storey residential tower at Midtown MacPark.

With the structure complete, the team is now progressing through to the final stages of facade, fit-out and finishing works.
